Abstract:In order to delineat Heiqiairon iron polymetallic mineralization belt in West Kunlun region, the authors used high resolution remote sensing interpretation and mineralization anomaly information enhancement and extraction technology, with suitable field sampling and verification test to establish the remote sensing geology prospecting model, which will provide foundation for future remote sensing in metallogenic belt in West Kunlun. The results show that a great potential siderite - copper zinc hematite mineralization belt is found in Heiqia area, which extends about 60 km in length and 200-500 m in width, including a plurality of mineralized bodies. The mineralized bodies are located in the transition site that clastic rock to carbonate rock of the d segment in the Wenquangou Group, appearing in bedded, near bedded and lenticular. The occurrence of the mineralized bodies are generally 40°-50°∠68°-81°, in accordance to the strata. The length of single body changes from several hundred meters to more than 9 500 m, and the exposed thickness on the surface changes from 2 m to 50 m, with the general thickness about 15 m. The surface ore minerals are mainly hematite and limonite, with a small amount of hematite and siderite. The Pb-Zn- Cu mineralization is commonly found in the carbonate rocks in the upper part of the iron ore body, which is also found in the upper part of the iron ore body. It is significantly important that high resolution remote sensing technology is used in mineral geological survey in the West Kunlun area, which would achieve a quick breakthrough in mineral prospecting work and provide the basis for the mineral exploration works in the same or similar area.
