Characteristics of Organic Pollution of Shallow Groundwater in the Shandong Plain |

Abstract The shallow groundwater is generally polluted by organics and many organic polluted areas have formed in the Shandong Plain. 29 kinds of organic pollutants are detected in samples of shallow groundwater from the study areas; the quality of groundwater deteriorates; the organic contents are over the qualitative limitation of drinking groundwater in some polluted areas. To evaluate the groundwater security, and protect the precious groundwater resources, this paper analyzed the species of organic pollutants and the pollution level of shallow groundwater in the Shandong Plain basing on integrated analysis of hydrogeological conditions and groundwater components.
