YANG Jinzhong, WANG Haiqing, CHEN Wei
Remote sensing technology is one of the indispensable means in the geology and mineral resources survey. The high spacial resolution satellite data, such as WorldView-2, QuickBird, IKONOS, and moderate resolution satellite data, such as ASTER, ETM
+
, are mainly considered as remote sensing data in this paper. High resolution remote sensing geological survey on west Kunlun metallogenic belt has been completed using multivariate and multilevel remote sensing technology. The orthogonal projection images at 1∶50 000 scale in this region have been made, to provide accurate geographic coordinates and directly reflect the status of regional transportation and distribution of geological disasters information. Combining remote sensing geology interpretation and anomaly extraction with field survey, the regional distribution of the metallogenic geological bodies, geological structure and mineralized alteration zones have been delineated. On the basis of the study of regional typical deposits, regional metallogenic zoning, and distribution characteristics of regional metallogenic/controlling factors, the remote sensing prospecting prediction is carried out, and the field verification and simple engineering verification in the partial remote sensing prospecting prediction area are done. 3 349 remote sensing anomaly areas have been recommend, and 146 forecasting areas have been delineated. Besides 16 priority deployment areas and 30 general deployment areas have been recommended. The remote sensing technology has played the leading role in the work of regional geology investigation and mineral exploration.

WANG Hui, FAN Yuhai, ZHANG Shaopeng, JIN Moushun, CUI Sheng, YANG Chen, KUANG Jingshui, GUO Pengcheng
In order to delineat Heiqiairon iron polymetallic mineralization belt in West Kunlun region, the authors used high resolution remote sensing interpretation and mineralization anomaly information enhancement and extraction technology, with suitable field sampling and verification test to establish the remote sensing geology prospecting model, which will provide foundation for future remote sensing in metallogenic belt in West Kunlun. The results show that a great potential siderite - copper zinc hematite mineralization belt is found in Heiqia area, which extends about 60 km in length and 200-500 m in width, including a plurality of mineralized bodies. The mineralized bodies are located in the transition site that clastic rock to carbonate rock of the d segment in the Wenquangou Group, appearing in bedded, near bedded and lenticular. The occurrence of the mineralized bodies are generally 40°-50°∠68°-81°, in accordance to the strata. The length of single body changes from several hundred meters to more than 9 500 m, and the exposed thickness on the surface changes from 2 m to 50 m, with the general thickness about 15 m. The surface ore minerals are mainly hematite and limonite, with a small amount of hematite and siderite. The Pb-Zn- Cu mineralization is commonly found in the carbonate rocks in the upper part of the iron ore body, which is also found in the upper part of the iron ore body. It is significantly important that high resolution remote sensing technology is used in mineral geological survey in the West Kunlun area, which would achieve a quick breakthrough in mineral prospecting work and provide the basis for the mineral exploration works in the same or similar area.

ZHANG Zhi, YANG Jinzhong, ZHANG Gaohua, GUO Lijun
Human activity is the catalyst to mine geological environment evolution, and mineral resources exploitation has the inevitability, comprehensive damage and lag and chain-amplified effects. The eastern Hubei Province was surveyed using remote sensing technology for the project requirements, including mining land occupancy, geological disasters and geological environment. The results show that the eastern mine area in Hubei Province was 7 339.29 hm
2
in 2013 and increased 1 065.44 hm
2
in 2014. There were 61 mine geological disasters, mainly distributing in the border land of rock of Echeng, Tieshan, Jinshandian, Lingxiang, Yinzu and Yangxin, and these disaster distribution has the spatical difference. From the perspective of ecological civilization, it requires us to build up the idea that green hills and clear waters are invaluable assets, convert the development concepts and protect the mine geological and ecological environment. The results also show that the regional unbalance existed in mine geological environment and mine recovery. The strength and speed of mining geological environment restoration in Wuhan and Huangshi and the effect of mine recovery in their suburban areas are better than those in other areas.

Analysis on evolution trend and influence factors of rocky desertification in Guangxi
AN Guoying, LEI Yingping, WEN Jing, ZHOU Xuan, TONG Liqiang
Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is one of the more serious provinces of rocky desertification in China, and monitoring rocky desertification development and governing the environment is a long-term task. In this paper, the distribution and evolution of rocky desertification spanning nearly 10 years from 1999 to 2008 in Guangxi were analyzed by using the results of the national eco-environmental remote sensing survey and monitoring projects, and the relevance between rocky desertification change and improvement measures as well as socio-economic development were discussed. The results show that, the area of rocky desertification in Guangxi is 1.703×10
4
km

by the end of 2008, which covers 7% of the total region and 20.85% of the area of the carbonate rocks. And the low, moderate and severe extent of rocky desertification areas are accounted for 58.70% , 29.02% and 12.28% of the total desertification area respectively. The low and moderate extent of rocky desertification are the dominant. The decreased area of rocky desertification was decreasing 1.026×10
4
km

during nine years, with average annual reduction of 0.114×10

and average annual growth rate of negative 5.10%. The general trend of desertification is good, which the overall area of rocky desertification is reduced, and the extent is relieved. The transformation trend of the rocky desertification is closely related to the implementation of environmental protection policies, the changes of the industrial economic structure and the growth of the average income. And the measures, such as returning farmland to forests, agricultural population transfer, variation of peasant household income as well as promotion of household gas stoves, have achieved good results in slow down the development of rock desertification . However, there are serious difficulties in governing the rocky desertification in Guangxi caused by the restrict of geological background, natural environment and population factors. So these tasks above are very arduous for a long time.
