New Understanding of the Dayong-Guzhang-Jishou Fault
ZHANG Xiao-yang, ZOU Guang-jun
The regional geological and mineral survey projects of 1∶50,000 Huayuan and Guzhang have found out the deformation features of the Dayong-Guzhang-Jishou fault in northwest Hunan province, and the distribution characteristics of lithology, lithofacies and palaeocoenosis in the Early Paleozoic rock stratigraphic units at both sides of the fault. Comprehensive studies show the fault is an important boundary between the Wuling and Xuefeng blocks in the southeastern margin of Yangtze plate, and the fault, as a long-term active structure, controls the distribution of regional lithology, lithofacies and mineral resources. These new understanding are favorable to the prospecting and exploration of sedimentary manganese, lead and zinc deposits in the northwest Hunan province.

Advances in Study of Skarn-type Scheelite Deposit
ZHAO Xin-min, GUO Zhou-ping, BAI Yun
Skarn-type scheelite deposit is widespread and has the greatest economic value, occupies an important place among all tungsten deposits in the world, and accounts for half of the total tungten reserves in the world In China, skarn-type scheelite makes up at least 60% of the total tungsten reserves. Therefore, study of skarn-type scheelite deposit is of great economic and strategic importance. In previous studies, some researchers have done a lot of works on skarn-type scheelite deposit and obtained a series of achievements. In this paper, on the basis of previous data, the spatial and temporal distribution, the geological and metallogenic characteristics, the ore-forming fluid and source, the metallogenic mechanism and comparison of typical deposits in domestic and abroad are discussed, and an overview of the current state in study of the skarn-type scheelite deposit is presented.

Major Progress and Achievements in Study of the Metallogenic Prospect and Prospecting Deployment of Mineral Resources in Northwest China
LI Wen-yuan, DONG Fu-chen, ZHANG Zhao-wei, TAN Wen-juan, JIANG Han-bing, XIAO Chao-yang
The most important metallogenic epochs are Proterozoic period and Paleozoic period in Northwest China which lies in the hinterland of Eurasia, and the main metallogenic types are extrusive volcanic iron deposits, banded iron formation (BIF) iron deposits, magmatic copper-nickel sulphide deposits, volcanic hosted massive sulphide copper polymetallic deposits, sedimentary exhalative lead-zinc deposits and epithermal gold deposits. The ore genesis closely relates to the large igneous provinces of Carboniferous-Early Permian in central south of Central Asian Tectonic Region, and the relevant metallogenic feature is characterized by Late Paleozoic endogenic mineralization. Both of the Tarim and Ordos basins are important oil storage basins, with some metal deposits located in their surrounding areas. Taxkorgan ore concentrating area of west Kunlun and Qimantage ore concentrating area of east Kunlun have been found in Qinling-Qilian-Kunlun orogenic belt of northeast of Tethyan tectonic domain. According to the multivariate comprehensive analysis of mineralization characteristics, typical deposits and new prospecting discoveries, we evaluated the mineral resources potential and prospecting potential, pointed out the mineral prospects and exploration areas, and put forward proposals for further work of Northwest China.

3D Inversion System of Magnetotelluric Sounding and its Application
ZHANG Kun, HE Yu-xian, YAN Jia-yong
Magnetotelluric is a geophysics exploration method for studying the crust and upper mantle electrical structure, which measures the surface orthogonal electric and magnetic fields based on the electromagnetic induction and natural electromagnetic fields. Thereafter, the audio-frequency magnetotelluric method which collects the high frequency domain of natural field and controlled source audio-freguency magnetotelluric method which collects artificial source are derived. These methods are widely used in deep structure study, mineral resources exploration, oil and gas exploration, and so on. Though the field work achieves 3D level in recent years, 3D data processing and inversion are insufficient and the efficiency and accuracy of interpretation is limited. To solve these problems, we develop the 3D inversion system of magnetotelluric sounding which contains static shift correction, initial model design and 3D inversion. The system effectively solves the static shift of data process and 3D inversion problem. A lot of algorithms in the system are improved which have advantages on calculation accuracy, efficiency and cost savings. And the system has a good application prospect.

Exploration Prospect of the Cambrian Niutitang Formation Shale Gas in Northwestern Hunan
LI Guo-liang, BAI Dao-yuan, WANG Xian-hui, LUO Peng, JIANG Wen, XIONG Xiong
Niutitang formation black shales are widely distributed in northwestern Hunan, which are the deposition products of reduction environment during Early Cambrian (Terreneuvian-Epoch 2), where the moderate buried depth and large thickness provide good gas reservoir conditions. Physical and chemical analysis shows the black shales are characterized by abundant organic matter (TOC: 0.59%~13.05%, average 3.75%), high maturity (Ro: 1.87%~4.00%, average 3.05%), good hydrocarbon generation potential (the kerogen is dominated by I type with minor II type), favorable reservoir reconstruction (brittle mineral content: 33%~87%, average 68%, clay mineral content:13%~43%, average 26%, and a high ratio of brittle mineral/ clay mineral), and low porosity and low permeability (porosity:0.3%~8.0%, average 3.3%, permeability less than 0.04×10

). Comprehensive studies show that Niutitang formation has good potential for shale gas reserves, and the method of conditional probability volume was used to assess resources, which shows abundant shale gas reserves. In addition, six favorable prospecting areas for shale gas are divided in northwestern Hunan, which provides evidence for the further research of shale gas.

ZHENG Lang,XIAO Yuan-fu,LI Hong-xiao,XIAO Rui-qing,YANG Kai-rui
This paper presented the characteristic of measured stratigraphic section of the 1st member of Jingxing Formation in Tuguan village, Gonglang town, Nanjian county, western Yunnan province, and discussed the lithostratigraphy, stratigraphic contact relations and lithofacies features. In addition, we proposed that the 1st member of Jingxing Formation which are composed of grayish white sandstone and purplish red mudstone were major in fluvial deposition.

The Design and Realization of the Management System for 1∶50,000 Geological Map based on MAPGIS
ZHAO Lin-lin, LIU Rong-mei
Considering that it is difficult to manage the massive regional geological map data, we proposed a method for managing the digital construction contents by establishing the 1∶50,000 regional geological map management system. Base on the study of technologies relating to MAPGIS and computer science, we put forward a high efficient GIS application solution which has the function of data warehousing management, property code conversion, distributed data storage management, spatial query, geographic elements and content retrieval. Experiments showed the geological map management system could provide a basic platform for regional geological map data standardization management, and this had great significance to ensure the data accumulation of regional geological database construction and the application of social services.

The Construction and Development of Geological Archives Digitalization
LIANG Qi-hua
The digitalization of geological archives is to improve the management and utilization of geological archives, and to provide readers with high-quality and high level service so that the users can refer to the contents, index and full-text information without leaving their home. The construction and development of geological archives digitization was discussed from the aspects of the construction of geological archive database platform, the blueprint for digitalized hardware and software environment, the searchable index setting and the database network permission setting. The superiority lies in four aspects. Digitalization for information management: using advanced digital storage technology solutions to achieve high versatility, safety and standardization; Resource management virtualization: achieving resource sharing by network interconnection and library to library co-construction virtual resource; Intelligent information resources management: allowing the user to search the database with hypertext and multimedia; Convenient for user application: users can obtain more timely and accurate information at any time, any place through the computer.
