Formation characteristics and prospecting direction of magmatic Ni-Cu sulfide deposits in China
ZHANG Zhaowei, LI Kan, ZHANG Jiangwei, QIAN Bing, WANG Yalei, YOU Minxin
The distribution of magmatic Ni-Cu deposits related with mafic-ultramafic magma of mantle sources is imbalance in the Earth owing to different deep mantle dynamics mechanism. Especially the imbalance distribution of Ni-Cu deposits in China, most of them were located mainly in interplate or the margin of plates. In order to understand formation characteristics of magmatic Ni-Cu sulfide deposits in China and definite the prospecting direction of magmatic Ni-Cu deposits, the typical magmatic Ni-Cu sulfide deposits were analyzed comprehensively and found that these deposits formed basicly in the late New Proterozoic, late Early Paleozoic and late Late Paleozoic. And all of them grew unexceptionally in the interplate or the margin of plate and it’s the result of multi-stages magmatic emplacement after immiscibling magma. This paper gives a systematic study of deep process of magmatic Ni-Cu sulfide deposits and useful ore-formation information of geology, geophysics, geochemistry and remote sensing. Combining with newly prospecting progress on ore-search breakthrough, the result shows that Northwestern China is a very important ore-forming potential area for magmatic Ni-Cu sulfide deposits and the margin of stable craton is still a main prospecting direction for magmatic Ni-Cu sulfide deposits.

Geological characteristics and resource potential of shale gas from well Suiye 1 in the Niutitang Formation, northern Guizhou
CUI Kai
The fault structure and the Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation are widely distributed in northern Guizhou of the upper Yangtze platform. The Niutitang Formation is a set of marine sedimentary and is mainly composed of shelf deposit, especially deep water shelf deposit which is favorable for the formation of shale gas. Information from well Suiye 1 in the Niutitang Formation revealed that the upper deposit was a good cap rock, and the advantageous potential shale mainly located in the lower, with high organic matter abundance, high maturity, a large number of micro-fissure, high gas-bearing properties and favorable preservation condition. According to the comprehensive analysis of the shale gas geological characteristics, we proposed that the Niutitang Formation was a good prospect for shale gas exploration.

CHEN Ning, WANG Juchuan, YANG Tao, WU Tong, FENG Weihua, LI Qi, HE Zhengfeng, ZENG Zhongcheng
The formation age of the Shangqihan volcanic rocks in West Kunlun has been under controversy for long time. LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating was used in this article to test the formation age of volcanic rocks. According to cathodeluminescence images of zircons, it have symmetrical oscillatory growth zonal structure. And most of the Th/U is over 0.4, referring to the characteristic of magmatic zircon. The results show zircons yield excellent concordant results with a weighted mean

U age of 335±4.2 Ma. Therefore, the formation age of the Shangqihan volcanic rocks belongs to Carboniferous period. Furthermore, the Shangqihan volcanic rocks are divided into Aqiangyan Formation. Combining with regional geologic background, we can reasonably conclude that the tectonic setting of the Shangqihan volcanic rocks are referred to rift environment.

The relationship between thrust-fault and the syntectonic magmatism in Chuankeng-Tongshan, northeastern Jiangxi Province
LU Junhao, ZHANG Da, DI Yongjun, BI Minfeng, XIONG Guangqiang, QIN Xiaofeng
This paper gives the conclusion that the copper deposit and the ore-forming rocks in Chuankeng-Tongshan area in Jiangxi Province were controlled by Mesozoic thrust-fault, by tectonic deformation analysis in the field. The thrust-fault’s surface undulate and overall dip towards SE. The exotic block composed of carbonate, shale and pelitic siltstone from middle Carboniferous to upper Triassic and the autochthon crop out Lower Jurassic. Deformations of exotic block shows isoclinal fold, associated with different scale of thrust fault and bedding detachment structure. Some recumbent and box folds are local existence. The thrust-fault moves from SE to NW. The ore-forming rocks intrusive to the thrust bedding detachment as mutual paralleled sheet. Other research in rock geochemistry and isotopic geochronology showed that the magma formed in magmatic arc under extensional environment, around 170 Ma. According to the stratigraphic age, the relationship of Mesozoic thrust-fault and the granite in Dexing area, the result inferred that the magma was syntectonic intrusion rocks, and controlled by the thrust-fault. And this probably results from the subduction of Pacific plate and southeast continental of China, and leads to the incrassation lithosphere and large scale nappe, then induces the lower earth crust remelting and magma invade.

New understanding and achievements in regional geological survey of 1∶250 000 Huaihua sheet, Hunan province
LI Guoliang, LIU Yaorong, BAI Daoyuan, WANG Xianhui, HE Jiangnan, LING Yuexin, YANG Jun
In this regional geological survey project, 1∶250 000 Huaihua sheet is located in the southeastern margin of the Yangtze block, and it is divided into four tectonic units from west to east: Wuling fault-bend fold belt, Yuanma basin, Xuefeng thrust belt and Shaoyang depression fold belt. Through investigation, the sedimentary relationship and its boundary between Banxi Group and Gaojian Group are found out in the study area. It is proposed that a depression formed in Chang’an stage of Nanhuan Period lies at the junction of Lianshao Basin and Xuefeng Mountain. The intrusive stages are divided, and the sequence of magmatic evolution is established. Combined with isotopic dating data, the intrusive ages and erupted ages of Baimashan-Longshan complex and its surrounding granites are ascertained. The tectonic deformation characteristics and tectonic patterns of Xuefeng orogenic belt are identified; the formation and evolution process of Yuanma basin are established.

Digital landslide technology and its typical application
WANG Zhihua
In order to change the condition of the traditional Landslide Remote Sensing, with low efficiency and survey precision, also having difficulty being improved, the author put forward the concept of “Digital Landslide” in 1999 after years of practices and exploration. This new concept makes the traditional geological landslide develop into a new “Digital Landslide”, which can be expressed in digital form and has a three-dimensional space, multidimensional time information and multiple elements. Digital Landslide technology system compose of four parts: the interpretation basic technology, the remote sensing identification technology, landslide database and model. In recent years, digital landslide technique has successfully been applied to the construction of large hydroelectric power station, mountain transportation line, regional development, environmental governance, earthquake resistance and disaster reduction. Besides, it has also been used in large-scale individual landslide investigation and research. Significant economic and social benefits have been achieved and effectively serves have been provided to the national disaster prevention and mitigation strategies. Tibet Pali River landslide and Tiantaixiang landslide in the east part of Sichuan province were used in this paper as examples to explain the innovative application of Digital Landslide Technology.

Stability classification of rock slopes along a highway in Mentougou, Beijing
GUO Songfeng, QI Shengwen, LI Xingxing, ZOU Yu, LIAO Haijun, ZHANG Shishu
The rock slopes, along a highway in Mentougou, Beijing, have characteristics as follows: huge amounts of 113, complicated influencing factors, large difficulty to gain mechanical parameters of all slopes, so it is hard to investigate the mechanical properties for large member of slopes. Analytic multilayer process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation are used to classify the slope stability in this paper. Two-layer and four primary influencing factors including nine secondary influencing factors are chosen to evaluate the slope stability according to the influencing factors of slope stability. Firstly, the stability classification is divided into 4 grades: stable, basically stable, less unstable, and unstable. Secondly, membership matrix and weight matrix are constructed. Lastly, stability of every slope is classified by the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. The results indicate that the number of unstable slopes is 3, 3% of all slopes; the number of less unstable slopes is 27, 24% of all slopes; the number of basically stable slopes is 52, 46% of all slopes; the number of stable slopes is 31, 27% of all slopes. If the number of slopes is huge, boundary conditions are not clear and influencing factors are complicated, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is an eligible method. It should be noted that the validity of the maximum subordination principle should be evaluated based on the effect of every factors on slope stability in case the evaluation fails.
