7 Main Progress and Achievements in Supplemental Regional Geological Survey of 1∶250 000 Yumenzhen Sheet
LIANG Ming-hong, HUO Qin-zhi, LI Hai-lin
The regional geological survey project of 1∶250 000 Yumenzhen sheet (K47C004001) has got some progress and achievements. In this project, we have found that the Dunhuang Group was mainly composed of a series of Paleoproterozoic khondalite rocks, and a set of epimetamorphic volcanic rocks, epimetamorphic fine clastic rocks and carbonate rocks. Combining with a large number of microfossil evidence, we confirmed that the three rock units were corresponding to the Qianluzigou group of Changcheng period, the Pingtoushan and Yema formation of Jixian, respectively. By using the innovative technology of finite strain measurement, five deformation events in the Dunhuang Group were identified on the basis of a detailed analysis of the ductile shear zone in this region. Through the statistics of the sedimentary grains, seven grain coarsening events in Changma alluvial fan were identified. Combining with a large number of ESR dating data, we suggested that the sediment grain size abrupt event and uplift of the plateau had a positive connection. In addition, we also found out the spatial-temporal distribution and evolution sequence of intrusive rocks in this region, and divided these intrusions into four types: homologous, heterologous, tectonic melange, and metamorphic.

WANG Mou, LIU Jie
After summarizing the main progress and achievements of uranium resource investigation and evaluation, and after analyzing the regional metallogenic condition, we proposed that the Xuemisitan volcanic belt of Xinjiang province had favorable uranium metallogenic geological background. We summarized the characteristics of uranium mineralization in different regions according to the ore-controlling factors, such as the Baiyanghe uranium polymetallic deposit was controlled by the sub-volcanic contact zone, the Yinisala-Shiyuegongqu uranium ore concentration area was controlled by the secondary fissure zone, and the Mamente uranium ore occurrence was controlled by the collapsed volcanic apparatus. Combining with the geological conditions and the existing geological work, we forecasted the uranium prospecting areas, pointed out the future prospecting direction and proposed the following work suggestions

21 Prospecting Progress and Indicators of the Tin Deposits in Xitian Metallogenic prospect area of Hunan Province—Prospective Survey Achievements of the Tin-Lead-Zinc Polymetallic deposit in Xitian, Hunan Province
WU Shi-chong, YU Yang-chun, ZENG Gui-hua, ZHU Hao-feng
The Xitian area is located at the northern margin of the east Hunan section in Nanling tungsten-tin-lead-zinc polymetallic metallogenic belt, and its geotectonic location is the junction belt between Yangtze Plate and Cathaysian Plate which has favorable metallogenic geological background. As an important territorial resources survey project approved by China Geological Survey in 2007, this project has deployed five aspects work as follows: 1∶50000 geological and mineral resources survey, ore area estimate, exploration demonstration, target verification, and comprehensive study. After a series of explorations and studies, we established the metallogenic geological model in Xitian area, brought forward the concept of "trinity ore-control system", determined the intrusive petrogenic age, determined the prospecting indicators, and figured out 301800 tons of tungsten and tin ore resources (332+333+334). However, as many mineral veins are still in pre-survey stage, we propose to increase exploration investment in further and to improve the resource level of Xitian area.

In this project, the stratabound type and skarn type copper, lead, zinc, silver polymetallic deposit was selected as the main exploration target. We revealed the regional metallogenic geological background; found 111 mineralization anomalies; submitted 3 mineral deposits, 8 metallogenic areas and 23 prospecting target areas; established the prospecting indicators and prospecting model basing on a set of exploration methods includes 1:50000 geological mapping survey, ground magnetic survey, stream sediment survey, and remote sensing geological interpretation. In addition, we have the following new discoveries: 1) we recognized the Nyainqentanglha group complex, serpentinized peridotite and greisen-skarn type copper-tungsten deposit, skarn type bismuth deposits and indium deposit in the study area; 2) we found the Laigu formation and Mali formation have important exploration significance in Nyainqentanglha region, and proposed the regional sedimentary-transform metallogenic model. All these progress and achievements provide fruitful basic materials for further geological survey, mineral exploration and development.

As a production-study-research team, we solved the key problems affecting the petroleum geological conditions, and petroleum resources potential evaluation of the Permo-Carboniferous strata in Yingen-Ejina basin. Several new propositions about the formation and evolution mechanism of the basin, the distribution of sedimentary system and sedimentary facies, and source rocks have been established based on the theory of basin mountain coupling, as well as the geological and geophysical technology. The Yingen-Ejina and its surrounding area is a typical rift basin formed in Permo-Carboniferous period, and the source rocks are mainly deposited in the neritic shelf environment of Late Carboniferous and Early Permian. We found many sets of large thickness, stable lateral distribution, with little regional metamorphism, and mature-to-high-mature source rocks in the Permo-Carboniferous formation, accompanied by medium-to-high abundance marine organism and II type kerogen. Geochemical characteristics of natural gas and crude oil from the Upper Paleozoic weathered crust have significant relation with that of the Carboniferous source rocks. In addition, we forecasted the prospecting potential, favorable prospecting areas, and the relative benefit areas in the Permo-Carboniferous formation.

WANG Tao, TONG Ying, WU Cai-lai, WANG Xiao-xia, XIE Cai-fu, ZHANG Hong-rui, MAO Jian-ren, ZHANG Lei, HAN Bao-fu, GUO Lei, HONG Da-wei, WANG Yan-bin, ZHANG Jian-jun, LI Shan
Based on extensive collection of granitoid chronology data and information, a large number of fieldworks had been done in the key areas of the main orogenic belts in Asia, including foreign countries, such as Russia, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, South Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. Many high precision zircon U-Pb ages and geochemistry data had been got with a lot of careful analyses in laboratories, and some important magmatic events had been found. Combined with the high quality published data, the geochronological frameworks of granitoids from some key areas were built, and a preliminary summary of the temporal and spatial distribution and tectonic magmatic evolution of the granitoids from the Central Asian Orogenic Belt, Central Orogenic Belt (Qilian-Qinling). Tethys and West Pacific tectonic domain were obtained, providing relevant tectonic background for the mineral resources exploration. Based on above researches, a draft map of Asian granitoids with database has been made, and the tectonic evolution of Asian granitoids has also been published. It provides the basis for discussing the Asian tectonic evolution, especially for the process of continental convergence. This is the first approach to systematical discussion of the Asian granitoid magmatic evolution by Chinese researchers.
